Clip point Bowie knife by George Wostenholm and Son Washington Works Sheffield, with logo in banner "The real I.X.L. knife and hunters companion". The blade measures 8", 12-1/4" overall, blade shows some minor sharpeningand light cleaning, slight staining and erosion, but its full dimension with just a small loss to point. The stag grips are good; the original to-the-period embossed leather scabbard with German silver throat is retained, tip is tearing away from body of scabbard and has been glued. Also the original button hangar is present. Some minor losses and normal aging. A good knife by a major maker with great markings. Est.: $800-$1,600
