Center hammer percussion pistol, circa about 1850, with American tiger striped stock. The pistol measures approximately 7-1/2" overall with 2-3/4" bell mouth cannon barrel of approximately .45 cal. The bottom of thebarrel shows an S P signature. The pistol is closely copied after European pistols of the 1850s era, but appears to be American handmade. The wood is very good+ with most of its original varnish, the tangs areconsiderably longer and were made for this stock. The pistol also shows other American features, i.e. hammer, screws, thin sheet metal guard, etc. Est.: $250-$500
