Brevette of Colt 1851 Navy revolver, .36 cal. percussion, 7-1/2" barrel, blue and case hardened finish, select burl walnut grips, #10989, showing Belgian proofs. The barrel is stamped " Colt Brevete", the cylindershows an unusual scene of hunting dog and game bird. The barrel retains 70-80% thinning original blue, the cylinder has drifted to gray as has the frame and lever. There is faint traces of case hardening andsome good original color on the hammer. The grips are good to very good with 50-60% varnish, some minor scratches and imperfections, normal wear. All matching serial numbers, many proofs and smallnumbers. The cylinder retains all of its oversized safety pins and the bore is good. We do not recall seeing another with this scene on the cylinder, which is quite attractive. Est.: $1,250-$2,500
