Cartridge belt with original Bridgeport attachment for Colt Single Action Army fast draw rig, the type favored by lawmen, messengers and bank guards during the frontier era. The cartridge belt is simplebrown leather, hardware or catalog style, measuring 2-1/4", numbered 55, nickel plated square harness type buckle, large caliber loop for .44 or .45 cal pistol, good condition, a few loops have come unstitched. The Bridgeport portion shows 80-90% original nickel, with gray patina, rust and normal aging. The attachment spring is marked patented January 17, 1882, and in reverse on bottom flange, Bridgeport G.I. Co. forBridgeport Gun and Implement Company who were the successors to Sharps Rifle Company. The studs and rivets show proper age and green vertigre and we will guarantee the authenticity of this Bridgeport rig. It waspurchased from C. W. Slagle of Scottsdale, Arizona more than 20 years ago.
