Lot 2242 2009 $20 1 oz Ultra High Relief. Gem Unc
2009 $20 1 oz Ultra High Relief. Gem Unc. In the original box of issue with the booklet. A dramatic coin made in the likeness of the world-famous Ultra High Relief $20 pieces of 1907 which today bring well over a million dollars each (on the rare occasion when one sells, that is!).
Interestingly, it was Bob Fagaly's article in the March 2006 issue of The Numismatist that helped bring attention to the ANA to encourage the U.S. Mint to strike a high-relief commemorative exactly like the 1907 UHR. As he stated in the article "Only a handful of collectors can afford a 1907 UHR double eagle, but I believe a significant number would buy this coin including me" .
Estimated Value $2,400 - 2,500.
Provenance: From the Bob Fagaly collection.
