TLS signed “Wm. H. Taft,” one page, 7 x 9.25, personal letterhead, April 17, 1917. Taft writes to Frank Woodward, in part: “I have your kind invitation to attend the annual meeting of your Society to be held in The Old South Meeting House…I regret I shall be unable to accept, for I have already made an engagement…when I am to attend a luncheon at the Boston City Club.” In fine condition, with some light toning and creasing.
