Lot 188 George Washington Carver

TLS signed “G. W. Carver,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute letterhead, August 14, 1936. Letter to Floyd Anderson. In full: “Dr. Baker, State Health Officer, was sent by the Governor [Bibb Graves] here yesterday to look into the peanut oil work that I am doing. I showed him your picture, and he took the affected leg and pointed out to the person that was with him the various defects and how it has been built up. He was very much pleased with the picture. I am so happy to know that my dear boy Floyd is getting along nicely. I know that you are doing hard work and that you are happy in it. As you know, I shall be extremely happy to have you come down whenever you can, and should I come to Atlanta I shall certainly look you up, as I do want to see my boy Floyd.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds and a mild shade of toning. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
