Lot 262 Hannibal Hamlin

ALS signed “H. Hamlin,” one page, lightly-lined both sides, 5 x 8, June 19, 1878. Letter to Massachusetts senator Hosea Knowlton. In part: “I have nothing to say now except to tell you that all that could be done, has been done in your behalf. The whole delegation united for you and your case has been as ably and forcibly presented to the Atty Genl & the Prest as we were capable of doing it. No result yet reached.” A fragile central vertical fold and some scattered light toning, otherwise fine condition.
