Distinguished author (1811–1896) whose epochal 1852 novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin brought the issue of slavery to the forefront of American consciousness and became one of the classics of 19th century literature. Original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo, by Hastings Studios of Boston, signed in the lower border in black ink, “Harriet Beecher Stowe.” In fine condition, with some scattered light spotting to image.
