TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, National Aeronautics and Space Administration Manned Spacecraft Center, Houston, Texas letterhead, stamp dated July 2, 1963. Carpenter writes to Arnold Schwager of Esmereldes, Ecuador, in full: “My sincere thanks for your generosity in sending the INCA Indian relics. Your thoughtful gesture is deeply appreciated, and you may be assured that they have been given a permanent place among the many other mementos I have been so fortunate to receive.” In fine condition, with light creasing and intersecting folds, none of which affect the pristine signature.
