Flown printed fabric American flag, 5.5 x 4, flown aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia during STS-2. Flag is affixed to an 8.5 x 11 certificate stating “This flag was flown aboard the second flight of the Space Shuttle ‘Columbia’ (STS-2) November 12–14, 1981. It is presented to you in recognition of the significant contribution you made to the success of the mission. Presented to John E. Reid.” Certificate bears autopen signatures of crew members Joe Engle and Richard Truly, as well as a NASA official. Matted and framed to an overall size of 11.5 x 14. Area of uniform toning covering most of the flag, otherwise fine condition.
