Lot 299 Two Sets of Miner's Companion Gold Scales
Mining Scales (2). Lot of two mining scales, both in "Miner's Companion" leather covered boxes measuring 7 3/8" x 4 1/4". 2 5/8" diameter pans suspended by chain from a 6 1/8" beam in one set; contains only the 2, 1 & 1/2 oz weights, others are missing. Paper note attached to inside lid. Scales and weights are in Fine condition; box shows considerable wear. The other set features a 6 3/8" beam with 2 3/4" pans suspended by chain. Box contains a variety of 13 weights from 2 oz to 3 kar. Box is in poor condition. [GS-48, GS-34]
