UT. 19-- (ca. 1900-1920). Specimen. Odd shs. Common Capital Stock, black. Portraits of J.M. Browning and M.S. Browning on left and right top. Total shares issued were 10,000. In 1879 the application for patent on the single shot rifle was filed and granted. In 1880, John Browning established his arms factory. In 1883, Mr. T.G. Bennet, Vice-President and General Manager of Winchester Repeating Arms Company visits Ogden, Utah Territory and forms an alliance that lasted nineteen years and changed the course of firearms development. As part of the transaction, the Single Shot was sold to Winchester Model 1885. In 1884, John and his brother Matt, traveled to New Haven to deliver what was to become the famous Winchester Model 1886. In 1892, the first patents on the Cold Model 1895 Automatic Machine Gun were filed. It earned the name the "Browning Peacemaker" during the Spanish-American War. In 1927, the J.M. & M.S. Browning Company was incorporated in Utah with the Browning Arms Company as a subsidiary. Rare and possibly unique stock certificate of famous and historic gun manufacturer and designer that possibly changed the military course of our country. Unique in archive. SBNC. XF.
