In 1969 Gates merged his Gates Aviation Corporation services companies with Learjet to form this company. In August 1987 Gates received an offer for its 64.8 percent share of Learjet from Integrated Acquisition, a New York-based financial group. Eager to cut its losses, Gates agreed to part with its Learjet shares for nearly $57 million. In 1990 The company was then sold to Canadian manufacturing conglomerate Bombardier.
