Lot 853 Southwark National Bank (of Philadelphia),

Philadelphia, PA. 19- (ca. 1900's). Specimen. Odd shs. Capital Stock. Black. Vignette of patriotic eagle in middle on shield, seated woman with 2 children on left and place for revenue stamp on right. Evidently an earlier engraved stock certificate from the 1850 to 1860's probably originally printed by ABN or NBN. The plate was evidently altered and reused for a later printing of the stock by SBNC. Rare in any form. Bank was Charter # 560 with 25 large size banknotes known on bank. Embossed seal "Security Bank Note Co. Philadelphia, Specimen" on lower left. Unique in archive. SBNC. VG.
