Miscellaneous correspondence, production material as well as an original prospectus from the original stock offering from 1971 included. Ames was a chain of discount stores based out of Rocky Hill, Connecticut in the United States. At one time it was the nation's sixth-largest discount retailer with annual net sales of $2.2 billion.
