American admiral (1837–1917) best known for his fabled victory at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War. ALS, one page, 4.5 x 7, Office of the Admiral letterhead, February 3, 1901. Short letter to a woman. In part: “I shall be at home tomorrow…at five o’clock and will be most happy to meet you and your son.” In fine condition, with a mild shade of toning and a light pencil notation to bottom.
