English actor (1877-1962) who appeared in over 100 films, including Gaslight, Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, Platinum Blonde, and Here Comes Mr. Jordan. ALS, one page, 8.5 x 11, December 25, 1927. Letter of thanks for a message of good luck. In part: “It was very kind of you to send a wire wishing me luck on our first night. Thanks very much indeed, I appreciated it immensely.” In fine condition, with a diagonal pencil line through text, central horizontal and vertical fold, and a small transcription of the letter stapled to top left.
