14K rose gold badge, circa 1882, belonging to City Marshal John “Jack” Gillan. This badge was presented to Gillan by six officers, F. Howard, John Hildreth, E.L. Young, James Canning, W. Bemis and Geo. Herold, whose names are engraved on the outer circle of the badge. Central cut-out 5-point star, 1 7/8” dia. T bar back.
Marshal Gillan died in 1917.
