Lot 119 Parker Shotgun belonging to Frank Butler
Serial #95819 is a 12 gauge DH hammerless, shipped directly to Annie Oakley’s husband Frank Butler c/o Buffalo Bill’s Wild West, Troy NY, May 26, 1900.
The ledger records its specifications as:
Length of Pull: 14 1/8”; Drop at Comb: 1 1/2”; Drop at Heel: 2 1/2”; and Weight: 7 pounds 8 ounces. The requested choke was for “RH - Cylinder & LH -Full”. The trigger pull was requested at RH - 3 1/2 [pounds] & LH - 4 [pounds]. Parker factory records show the shotgun returned for alteration in 1922 per a letter from Parker Bros., Meriden, Conn. dated Aug. of 1923 to a Mr. E. F. Wagner. The shotgun is 85-90% condition overall with bright blue and casecolor. The wood shows slight use marks, bores are bright and clean. Triggers are bright and sharp.
