Lot 174 Kiowa Bow Case & Quiver and Long Bow
Early and notable bow case and quiver with parfleche-style decorations in applied paint. Rough tanned hide with several repair points and some wear holes. Colors and design reminiscent of traditional Apache tribes. This case includes a period bow that is the full length of the 47” case, the attached quiver is 24 1/2” in length. Some remnants of the buffalo hair remain on the interior. Circa 1860s case with repairs made over the years to the stitching with heavy sinew and added decoration.
