^Lot 186 Rock Hudson Frock Coat from Bengal Brigade

This period coat was worn by the character "Capt. Jeffrey Claybourne," portrayed by legendary actor Rock Hudson, in the 1954 motion picture, "Bengal Brigade." The period frock coat is constructed of cream cotton with self-covered cloth buttons on the front and back and has flap pockets at the waist. The interior of the garment has the original Western Costume Company label sewn inside with the name "Rock Hudson" typed in slightly faded ink.

Mr. Hudson wore the coat in several key scenes shared with the character "Latah" (Vivien Morrow). He also wore the coat in promotional images and production stills from the film.

The lapels were modified with cream trim and some of the original buttons were replaced for use in a subsequent production. The coat is in vintage screen worn condition with evidence of distress due to use and age.
