Asheville Confederate Rifle Cal .58 SN:NVSNMade in the Asheville Armory Dated 1863. The markings"V S P" marked on barrel. Barrel is 33" long and rifled and has a bayonet lug. Full length wood stock with 2 barrel bands. Trigger guard is brass and has been bent andwood is chipped at tang, possibly during battle. Curved brass butt plate and sling swivels. Ramrod is missing.
