Interesting Civil War Period Assemblyof Colt 1851 Navy #13951 BBL and trigger guard. #171117 backstrap, frame and cylinder are #3953. From a Metropolitan Navy. Grips are Colt Navy. Condition is fair to good and patina matches and it was used this way.Cased in old box with velvet lining. Contains scrimshawed ivory seal on sounding block to go with small gavel of the type used by judges and Congress. The seal is the State Charter Seal of South Carolina, proceedingthe State Seal. A very interesting outfit from an estate who's former owners believed the seal, gavel, and pistol belonged to a South Carolina State Legislator who served before the Civil War.
