Lot 380021 Josef Klotz Antique German Violin w/Case 1795
This is a Josef Klotz violin. The label inside is marked: Josef Klotz in Mittenwalde anno 1795. The front has a two inch split parallel to the neck. Otherwise, the rest is fine, with smooth surface, and beautifully pattern on back. The neck appears to be straight. The peg box, pegs, fret board, and scroll look fine. Its length, not including the end peg, is approximately 24 inches, making it a 4/4 size model. * The bow has genuine horse hair. Its length is 29". The case is wood, and it is old and probably original, with metal handle. * This is a splendid violin.
