Lot 27 A Greek Gnathian Prochous Lion Head Terminals
South Italic, ca. 325 BC. Graceful vessel on rounded base with thin neck, elegant pinched pouring spout and looped handle. Two little lion masks molded at base of spout. Gnathia was a sub style of the Apulia region in South Italy who produced these black glazed vessels with bands of decorative stylized grape bands and geometric patterns. 7-3/4"-H (19.7cm), handle repaired.
