Lot 43 A Greek Mycenaean Pottery Stirrup Jar

Late Helladic IIIC, ca. 1200-1100 B.C. Lentoid in form, on a ring foot, decorated in brown with horizontal bands on the body, the zones between the central spout and the handles with a band of stylized sea creatures encircling body; with thick and thin bands, solid brown dot on top the central knob. 3-3/4"H, tip of spout missing, small pressure crack on base, plus heavy surface encrustation, as shown.
