Lot 68 A Roman Bronze Fibula - Double Ram Heads
Rare... and quite heavy! From ancient Rome, ca. 200 - 300 AD. Solid bronze cross-bow fibula with high, arched bow with ram's head decoration at each terminal. Originally used by the military and elite alike to hold their togas closed. 3-3/8"L x 3-3/4" H, missing pin and one end slightly bent, as shown. Fabulous, original patina.
