Lot 94 A Late Roman/ Byzantine Bronze Censer
Ca. 4th to 6th Century A.D. The hexagonal bowl on short tripod feet, three loops on the everted rim, suspended from chains with attachment hook above. Exterior and underside/base decorated with series of incised concentric circles. Used by priests to burn incense during religious rites. Bowl portion measures 4"H to tip of loops x 5"D, with chains fully extended 15-1/2". All intact/original. Rare to find, especially this nice!!
