Lot 107 A Ming Dynasty Glazed Pottery Figure of Musician
China, Ming Dynasty ca 1368 to 1644 AD. Terracotta standing musician holds a trumpet-like instrument in his right hand; he wears a long robe with thick over-cloak, with a tall headdress. He bears a very serene expression on his face. The figure has been painted with thick green and cream glaze, with one or two splashes of ochre. The head, chest and feet of the figure are left unglazed, with details such as the moustache, eyebrows and pupils painted in added black. 9"H, intact. Custom stand.
