South central coast Peru, Ca. 1000 to1425 A.D. A colorful section from a panel having diagonal double step elements with rows of stylized birds in shades of red and yellow on a loosely woven brown gauze ground. 19” L x 4” W, mounted on a black cloth backing. Minor loss to the upper right corner, otherwise overall excellent condition.
