Lot 126 A Pre Columbian Lambayeque Copper Mask
Peru, Ca. 800 to 1200 AD. Constructed in sections of sheet metal, attached with thin flat strip staples and depicting a human face wearing a high brimmed headdress with repousse button border and double curled crescent applique. The eyes, ears and nose are all individual elements applied to the face. Deep crystallized blue-green patina, with traces of silver under the patina. 5-1/4” x 5-3/4” W, restored and complete with custom plexi mount.
