Lot 144 A Framed Inca Textile Child's Tump Line

A lovely and very unusual Inca textile tump line, ca. 1350 to 1500 AD. Woven of camelid fibers (llama wool or alpaca) using a very rare purple dye, plus red, brown and tan with central textile panel and cords to each side to attach to small pottery vessels. These were sued to carry loads using the forehead, thereby leaving the hands free. Framed size 18"W x 14"H. Textiles professionally cleaned, mounted and custom framed, and looking marvelous as such!
