Lot 158 A Pre-Columbian Nayarit Seated Female

Dating to approximately 100 B.C. - 100 A.D., from Mexico. An enchanting terracotta female figure, she sits on a stylized chair, leaning forward. Each ear decorated with three spools, the nose pierced with ring, the tall mass of incised hair unpainted. A thick collar or choker around her neck. Beautiful and fascinating dendrite formations lie all over the figure, formed over the millennia and testament to this object's extreme age. 16"H, repaired.
