^Lot 173 A Sukuma Carved Wood Red Painted Face Mask

Tanzania, mid 20th Century. Stylistically carved in wood with smooth circular features, rounded eyes and some inset teeth remaining. Nicely pierced around rim and displaying old back. Red face pigment and black pigments for coiffure. 8-1/4” H, excellent condition; age wear. Complete with custom mount.
