Lot 3 Fleischer Studios Popeye production drawing
(Fleischer Studios, 1934) A very early original production drawing of Popeye from Sock-a-Bye Baby. Accomplished in graphite on untrimmed 8 ½ in. x 11 in. animation paper. A small one-inch area of paper missing from one edge, but does not affect the image. Popeye first appeared in an animated short in 1933. This drawing is from his sixth animated short. Early drawings such as this one are extremely rare. Total image size is 6 in. x 4 in.
