Lot 57 Extremely rare original production model cel from One Froggy Evening
(Warner Bros. Studios, 1955) Considered one of the greatest and most popular cartoon shorts ever made, Chuck Jones’ One Froggy Evening was the only appearance of Michigan J. Frog during the classic period of Warner Bros. animation. This hand-inked and hand-painted production model cel is one of only two known to exist. The cel was trimmed down to 3 ¼ in. x 4. ¼ in. at some point and placed in a small frame. There is paint chipping throughout, but because of the rarity of the item the owner decided not to restore the piece. The cel is still attached to its pink paper background as it was prepared. An extremely rare piece of animation art.
