(Walt Disney Studios, 1973) Original preliminary pencil sketch for a painting by Carl Barks. Accomplished in graphite on 16 in. x 22 in. paper. Barks began his career at Disney in 1935 as an “in-betweener.” He eventually became the artist behind the Donald Duck series of comic books and is credited with creating Scrooge McDuck.
