Lot 318 Rare original layout drawing from Steamboat Willie
(Walt Disney Studios, 1928) Rare original layout drawing featuring Mickey and Black Pete from Steamboat Willie. Originally obtained from the Les Clark Collection, this drawing is one of the only layouts known to exist and one of only a handful of drawings to feature both Mickey and Pete. Steamboat Willie was the first sound cartoon ever produced, and the breakthrough short that propelled the Walt Disney Studios to success. The untrimmed animation paper measures 9 ½ in. x 12 in. Total image size is 5 in. x 5 ½ in.
