TLS as president signed “DE,” one page, 6.75 x 9, White House letterhead, March 6, 1956. Letter to Ernest ‘Tex’ Lee, Eisenhower’s former aide-de-camp, regarding his decision to run for a second term. In part: “Many thanks for your message. I think, in the recent announcement, above all I appreciate the approval of those who were particularly close to me in wartime.” In fine condition, with scattered creases and wrinkles, and a few spots of trivial soiling. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
