^Lot 85 James K. Polk and James Buchanan

Partly-printed scalloped-top DS, signed as president, signed “James K. Polk” as president and “James Buchanan” as secretary of state, one page, 10.25 x 14.25, no date. An unissued ship’s pass, nicely signed at the conclusion by Polk and Buchanan. Matted and framed to an overall size of 14 x 18.25. In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of Buchanan’s signature, some light wrinkling, and a bit of mild toning. The white seal is intact and slightly worn with a central horizontal fold.
