Medal of Honor–winning military officer and physician (1860–1927) who served as Army Chief of Staff and later as Governor General of the Philippines. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, March 24, 1920. Letter, marked “Personal,” to John C. Barnard. In part: “I suggest that you get in touch with Senator Moses in Washington who is in charge of the situation in the South. I am always glad to hear from former members of the Rough Riders.” Wood also adds a handwritten sentiment at the closing. In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and a uniform shade of toning.
