Lot 504 Charles Dickens

Ink signature, “Faithfully yours, Charles Dickens, Harrisburgh, Twenty fifth March 1842,” on an off-white 7.5 x 2.5 slip. Slip has been tipped in to the beginning of a hardcover volume of American Notes. In fine condition, with a central vertical fold, another vertical fold near right edge and a bit of light toning. Book rates good to very good. At the time of the signature, Dickens was at the United States Hotel in Philadelphia and had been interviewed by Edgar Allen Poe a few days before.
