British painter and etcher, known especially for his symbolic landscapes. Original unsigned pencil and charcoal sketch of the upper torso and head of a man on an off-white 6 x 10 sheet, labeled at the top in an unknown hand, “John 1904.” Nicely matted and framed to an overall size of 18 x 22.25. Uniform block of toning over majority of sketch, otherwise fine condition.
