Lot 600 Noah Webster

Author and lexicographer (1758-1843) who published the first comprehensive dictionary of American English. Pamphlet entitled “Message from The President of the United States to Both Houses of Congress, 8th November, 1804.” 5 x 8.5, 22 pages, Washington City: William Duane & Son, 1804. Signed on the front cover, “N. Webster.” Jefferson’s message is missing, but the pamphlet retains its three related printed documents. In good to very good condition, with partial separation to some of the pages along extremely fragile spine, scattered toning and foxing to cover and opening pages, scattered paper loss to edges, and a few horizontal bends.
