This is a solid fossilized opal clam. This shell became opal crystal during fossilization which occurred millions of years ago. Having turned to opal, it is called "opalized." It is a good size, measuring 32 mm x 26 mm, approximately 43.5 Ct. The top side has yellow, pink and green colors that sparkle in the light. The bottom side is mostly pearly white, with a few specks of color. * This is a unique specimen, and a beautiful piece for any collector of shells, fossils, or gemstone.
