SCREEN-USED HERO FIRING STORMTROOPER DLT-19 HEAVY BLASTER RIFLE FROM STAR WARS: EPISODE IV – A NEW HOPE. - (TCF, 1977) In the rst groundbreaking Star Wars lm the Imperial Stormtroopers (as well as the Sandtroopers on Tatooine) can be seen armed with large DLT-
19 heavy blasters which have superior range over the smaller blasters used by the majority of the Imperial forces. This spectacular weapon is based
on a World War II-era German MG 34 machine gun (now deactivated) crafted of heavy steel, measuring approx. 48 in. in length., and features a
fold-down, footed stand and wooden stock. At the time of lming, Bapty & Co., the legendary British movie weapon makers/suppliers for over
90 years, supplied the weapons for Star Wars and only had four live ring MG 34’s, all of which can be seen on a gun rack in the communications
room on the Death Star. This is one of two weapons possessing a Bakelite stock unique to the DLT-19 that Chewbacca res in the detention
block, giving this weapon a 50% chance of being used by Chewbacca in the famous jail break scene during Princess Leia’s bold rescue! Following
the weapon’s use in Star Wars, Bapty removed the studio dress t-shaped polymer “vent ns” that span the length of the barrel. Still bearing the
marks from where the original dressing resided, expertly replicated strips were crafted and installed returning this weapon to its screen appearance.
This represents the only Star Wars DLT-19 heavy blaster ever o ered at public auction and it is accompanied with a custom made stand metal stand
for display. Comes with the original deactivation certi cate issued when the weapon was rendered non- ring. An incredibly impressive and rare
