Additional Information: The etching is hand signed in pencil by the artist "Laboureur" in the lower left margin and hand numbered in pencil at the lower right margin "6/10 epr" (= artist proof).
The print is inscribed "premier etat" (= first state) in the lower right corner.
This impression is the rare first state (out of four) that was printed in 1922/23 in a limited edition of 10 artist proofs. The final fourth state was printed in a limited edition of 60 impressions and published by Petiet.
Stamped verso with the Henri M. Petiet collection stamp (the initials 'H.M.P.' in an oval) in black ink.
Provenance: Henri Marie Petiet Collection.
Henri M. Petiet (1894-1980) was an important Parisian collector, publisher and dealer in prints and drawings of such artists as Bonnard, Vuillard, Luce, Signac, Matisse, Rouault, Villon, Vlaminck, Dufy, Picasso, Laurencin as well as Laboureur.
