Title: The Oriental Water Porter, ca. 1890's-1900's
Technique: A Rare Set of 3 Original Hand Signed Etchings (dry-point) on watermarked paper (2 on old laid paper and one on Arches paper)
Paper size: average 40 x 26 cm / 15.7 x 10.2 in
Additional Information: This is a rare group of 3 different states of the same etching.
Each one of the 3 etchings is hand signed in pencil by the artist at the lower right margins.
1. The first etching is of the first state, before the steel facing of the plate. it is inscribed in pencil at the lower left margin "1er etat" (1st state) and is probably the unique and only impression of the first state.
2. The second etching is of the second state. It is inscribed in pencil at the lower left margins"2eme etat 1/3" (2nd state 1/3). This impression of the rare second state is one of only three in existence.
3. The third etching is of the final (probably the third state) of the etching. It bears the dry stamp of the publisher in the lower left margins "Cercle Librairie - HRN- Estampes" and has the additional etched face
Condition: Very good condition. the second etching has a missing corner.
