HOYT’S MAP OF THE VERDE MINING DISTRICT, YAVAPAI COUNTY, ARIZONA. Revised and Published by Haff & Colwell, U.S. Mineral surveyors, Jerome, Arizona. It measures 36" x 57” and is printed with blue ink on white background, with orange blocks denoting specific claims. The Verde Mining District was an important mining district in the state of Arizona. Silver, gold and copper come from 2 different mines, the United Verde and the United Verde Extension. The first group of prospectors began to explore Verde Mining area was in the 1870s. Mining companies soon flooded the area with claims.
